Shiva, who is auspicious, is the Sun to that lotus which is the face of Gowri. Just as the lotus blooms in the presence of the sun, Gowri’s face blooms in the presence of Shiva. Vrnda (वृन्द) is a group, hence ábja Vrinda’(अब्ज वृन्द) is a group of lotuses. The One who is the destroyer of Daksha Prajapati’s yaga. The One who is blue throated, and who has the bull as the insignia on his flag. My prostrations to that Shiva who manifests himself in the letter ‘shi’ (शि). In this shloka the letter ‘shi (शि) is represented by Shiva.
